DO I HAVE TO?

1.  Often hear — say, "Preacher, do I have to do that”   Etc

Justified in studying the matter.

I. WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO.

A. DON'T HAVE TO HEAR CHRIST

Acts 3:22-23  For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Ephesians 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

B. DON'T  HAVE TO BELIEVE

Mark 16:15-16  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

John 8:24  I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins

Revelation 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

C. DON'T  HAVE  TO  REPENT — IN  CHURCH  OR  OUT OF IT.

Acts 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Acts 8:22  Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Cf. Rev. 2, 3

D. DON'T HAVE TO CONFESS CHRIST

John 12:42-43  Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Romans 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

E. DON'T  HAVE TO BE  BAPTIZED

John 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Mark 16:16  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

F. DON’T HAVE TO LIVE A FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE

1 Corinthians 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Peter 1:10 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

II. SOME THINGS YOU WILL HAVE TO DO — CAN'T AVOID THEM.

A. WILL HAVE TO DIE

Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

1 Corinthians 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Genesis 3:19  In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Ecclesiastes 9:5  For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

The Grim Reaper Will Come!

B. HAVE TO BE RAISED.

John 5:28-29  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Revelation 20:12-13  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Acts 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

C . WILL HAVE TO BE JUDGED

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Acts 17:31  Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

D. HAVE TO GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL — ONE OR THE OTHER.

Matthew 25:46  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal

Thessalonians 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

John 5:28-29  . . . all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation

E. HAVE TO  STAY  FOREVER  IN  YOUR  CHOSEN DESTINY.

Matthew 25:46  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

2 Thessalonians 1:9  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Luke 16:26  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

You do Not have to hear, believe, repent, be baptized and live a Christian life.  That is your choice if you are willing to pay the price.  Heb.  11:24-26

But you will die, be raised, be judged, go either to heaven or hell, and you will spend eternity in which ever you choose!

YOU MUST MAKE A CHOICE!

Matt. 7:13-21

WHAT CHOICE ARE YOU MAKING?
